It was great to have our first Jeanneau Cup event on the Sunday 11th December hosted by Sandringham Yacht Club.
The forecast was for a warm 20-30 knots from the north, but by the end, some boats were seeing up to 37 knots at the top of their mast, however it was Andrew Holmes in his Sun Odyssey 440 ‘Serendipity’ from Royal Brighton Yacht Club that won the race on corrected time from Peter and Julie Burnham in their Sun Odyssey 490 ‘Kinfolk’ from Safety Beach Sailing Club.
Tony Hammond from SYC came in third sailing double-handed on his Sun Fast 3600 ‘Maverick’. All the place getters received a super-comfy Jeanneau soft-shell jacket from Zhik.
Due to the central location for a number of our owners on Port Phillip Bay, we are looking at running the 2023 Jeanneau Cup from SYC again on the 26th March. So please mark this date in your diaries if interested in attending.
