The Jeanneau 44 Deck Saloon Reef Princess arrived safely to her new home, Castaway island, Fiji in July having been commissioned in New Zealand. The owners wife, Janelle, greeted them in style with a helicopter fly over in the last leg of their voyage. Note the “Hot Pink” storm sail she is sporting in the video below!
Notes from Jayson Raffe, the Owner/skipper:
After 3 days at Denarau waiting for customs clearance, we have finally taken Reef home. We had a ‘dream run’ with 15 to 20 on the beam to stern quarter (east) for the first 2 days, then 2 days of motoring, then 2 days of 15 to 25 from the west stern quarter. The wind picked up in the last 8 hours to around 30 knots, and the boat handled it really well. Fishing: 1 skip jack, 1 albacor tuna, 1 sail fish. We only ate the albacor and let the others go….Thank you again for all your help and support with the boat. I hope to see you again soon.
Recent reports from Fiji is that the Jeanneau 44DS has been winning many twilight races and around the island racing. With an award winning hull and rig, she is not only sexy, but couples this with good performance.
