Fast, fun to sail, well equipped and nicely maintained, she is ready to race this coming season and if her recent history is anything to go by, you could soon be filling your trophy shelves. Past successes in Range Series, Association Cup, Festival of Sails, Petersville Series, Sail Peninsula and Club racing confirm that this is a highly competitive racer while she also has good headroom throughout and some nice cruising touches for the occasional leisurely day sail or weekend away.

Farr Yacht Design put together a great package of design features in the First 34.7 with the deep T bulb keel providing excellent stability and a 2016 larger rudder upgrade ensuring great control and strong performance. The two-spreader carbon mast is stiff and efficient and the choice of symmetric spinnakers with a pole or asymmetric spinnakers with the retractable carbon sprit provides exciting race options. Her rod rigging was replaced in 2021 and her extensive sail wardrobe includes an as-new 2020 carbon Quantum mainsail together with a complete range of headsails, symmetric and asymmetric spinnakers. With a spacious cockpit, this yacht is well suited to fully crewed racing while her high stability and ease of handling would also make her ideal for the growing short-handed racing scene.

This First 34.7 features Harken winches, jib tracks and cars, mainsheet and deck gear, a large diameter single wheel for precise steering, jib in-haulers, coarse and fine tune mainsheet and a multi-purchase backstay for excellent rig control. Performance electronics are wireless TackTick with four large digital displays. She is powered by an economical Yanmar 3YM20 diesel engine with sail drive leg and folding propeller.

Down below, she has a private double berth owners aft cabin, a single berth aft cabin and two settee berths in the main cabin, either side of the central saloon table. The galley features a top-loading ice box, sink with pressure water, two-burner gas stove with grill and good storage. The Nav station features a chart table with navigators seat and the Icom VHF radio and GME stereo close at hand.
