After the recent federal election and all the negative international trade news in the media over the last two months, new and used yacht sales across the Australia have been extremely quiet, however about two weeks ago, we noticed a big increase in enquiries and as a result, we ended up selling a number of brokerage yachts and the 2025 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 490 that we recently put up for sale.
It seems as though that yachties are not deterred by negative news and if anything, it only motivates them to buy a yacht and get away from it all.
So if you are one of those that is getting away next week to head up to the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show on the Gold Coast, don’t forget to check out the new Excess 14 Catamaran and the Jeanneau Yachts 55, which also happens to be two of the biggest sailing boats at the show!
Tim will be onboard Jeanneau stand with Mooloolaba Yacht Brokers Thursday and Friday, while I will be looking after the Excess Catamarans display with Micah from Flagstaff Marine.
Finally, the all new Excess 13 was recently crowned IMS Premiere Winner at 2025 Multihull of the Year Awards. Revealed in a vibrant ceremony at the International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte, France, the prestigious awards celebrated the leading innovations, performance, sustainability, and liveability across the diverse global multihull market.
The jury commended the Excess 13 for its successful combination of responsive helm feedback, dual aft helm stations, and modern design language, all within a package that ensures comfort and functionality while at sea. This recognition highlights the Excess 13’s ability to deliver an engaging sailing experience without compromising on practicality and contemporary aesthetics.
