The new innovative Jeanneau SO379

Jeanneau, arguably one of the world’s leading innovators in sailboat and motorboat production, has excelled once again.
At the upcoming Sydney International Boatshow, Jeanneau Australia will be hosting the International launch of the new Sun Odyssey 379. Innovative as this model is, the major innovation is the addition of the ‘beachable swing keel’ version.
This style of boat is already available in the Sun Odyssey 30i and the Sun Odyssey 33i, both versions already sailing in Australia in Queensland and in Victoria’s Gippsland Lakes, but this is the first time offered in a boat of this size.
Offering a depth of 1.1 metres with the board up and twin rudders, designed to enable the boat to sit on her bottom, this is truly a unique boat.  Combine this keel version with optional rig configurations including a self tacking headsail, cruising in shallow areas are now a very viable option.
The use of the external keel box to house the centerboard means that there is no loss of internal volume, and the centerboard is operable from the coach house roof winch.
If the swing keel, twin rudder version is not your desired arrangement, there is also a 1.50 metre wing keel and standard 1.95 metre versions available.
